Stay tuned for Yoga Class details…

As many of you have eagerly anticipated, I am happy to say I’ll be teaching group classes in Marin very soon! Stay tuned for details…

Establish Your Daily Yoga Practice

for women and teens

I teach yoga, breathing, and meditation for women and teens in the Marin County area to help them create a short daily yoga routine they feel confident practicing at home and that leaves them feeling calm and energized while improving their digestion, hormonal balance, and sleep.

I have close to 20 years of teaching experience with a myriad of different styles of yoga ranging from vigorous ashtanga yoga to restorative yoga for bodies of all ages and capabilities. While group classes can provide us skills and inspiration, the value of a home practice is priceless. Tending the fertile ground of transformation in one’s home practice allows for growth in a way unlike no other.

I look foward to supporting you in creating this medicine for your body and soul!

Who I Teach

From fresh beginners to yoga students with decades of experience, I cater to the needs of the individual. Some of my students come with body pain, some with anxiety, and some simply want to refine their current yoga practice. My only criteria is that the student is eager to explore making yogic practices a part of their daily (or near daily) life for a minimum of 10 minutes per day.

Lessons are offered in my Larkspur office. Each lesson is 45-minutes long and include email follow up with descriptions of postures and photos if needed. Lessons are not one-size-fits-all; each lesson is crafted to help you come into deeper health harmony and meet your intentions/goals.

“Her guidance helped me understand how to enter into the yoga poses and gave me the tools to practice on my own. A couple months of the practice have brought many wonderful benefits - dramatically reduced tension in my neck and chest, a deeper awareness of my breathing, more energy and a general sense of wellbeing.

Kate is fun and has this gentle forcefulness about her that is very motivating. She really gives of herself. She has done a great job of challenging some of my yoga preconceptions and habits in order to help me explore yoga more fully. In addition, she is humble and does not take herself too seriously as "the teacher." I would recommend her to anyone!”

Evidence shows greater correlations between health with daily home practice than attending yoga classes.

Yes, you read that right. In 2012, the Nursing School at the University of Michigan did a study that concluded:

“Frequency of home practice appears to be very important— more important than how long an individual has been practicing or how many classes one takes. This emphasizes a simple fact: it is not enough simply to learn how to do healthy behaviors. Rather, healthy behaviors must be incorporated into one’s daily life."
